Ordering & Payment

Do I need an account to order?

No. You can check out as a guest. Creating an account just makes it easier to track orders and reorder later.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. All payments are processed securely.

Can I change or cancel my order after placing it?

If we haven't packed your order yet, yes — email us at support@verdant-living.co.uk as soon as possible and we'll do our best. Once an order is packed and dispatched it's on its way to you and we can't recall it.

Do you send gift orders?

Yes — our packaging is giftable by default (FSC recycled kraft cardboard, no plastic). Add a gift note at checkout and we'll include it.

Do you offer bulk or trade discounts?

For larger orders (landscapers, gardeners, event work), email support@verdant-living.co.uk with what you need and we'll see what we can do.

Delivery

How much does delivery cost?

Free on every UK order. No minimum spend.

How quickly will my order arrive?

We ship next-day courier. Orders placed Monday to Thursday are packed the following day and dispatched within 24 hours. Orders placed Friday to Sunday are packed and dispatched on Monday. We don't ship on Saturdays or Sundays - plants shouldn't sit in a courier depot over the weekend.

Do you deliver outside the UK?

Not currently. We only deliver within the United Kingdom.

How can I track my order?

As soon as your order is dispatched you'll get a tracking number by email. If you can't find it or the tracking isn't working, email support@verdant-living.co.uk and we'll sort it.

What if I'm not home for the delivery?

The courier will attempt delivery and, depending on your address, may leave the parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour. If delivery fails they'll leave a card with next steps. You can also add delivery instructions at checkout (e.g. "leave behind the side gate").

What happens if my plants are damaged or dead on arrival?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo. We'll replace or refund - no need to return anything. Full details on our Returns Policy.

Our Plants

What does "garden-ready" mean?

Our plants are mature enough to go straight into your garden, pots, window boxes or hanging baskets - not tiny plugs that need another year of nursery care.

Do plants come in pots?

No - plants are shipped without pots. This keeps packaging lighter, more recyclable, and lets you plant them straight into their final position.

Where are your plants grown?

At our own nursery in Britain. We're growers, not resellers. Every plant is cared for by us before it reaches you.

Are your plants peat-free?

Yes. Every plant is grown in peat-free compost.

How big will the plants be when they arrive?

Sizes are noted on each product page (e.g. "Large Plants"). Exact height varies by variety and season, but every plant is dispatched at a mature, garden-ready size.

Will my plant look exactly like the photo?

Close, but not identical. Plants are living things - colour, size and form vary naturally. If something arrives that isn't what you ordered, contact us.

Plant Care

What should I do when my plants arrive?

Open the box straight away, give each plant a good water, and plant them in their final position as soon as you can. If you can't plant immediately, keep them somewhere cool and shaded with light watering.

My plants look tired after the journey - is that normal?

Yes. Plants often look a bit weary after transit. A good water and time to recover in their final spot is usually all they need. Most perk up within a few days.

What if my plant doesn't recover after a week?

If a plant fails to recover within 7 days of delivery and you've been watering it appropriately, email us with photos and we'll work with you on a solution.

Do you include planting instructions?

Basic care information is on each product page. For variety-specific advice, our Blog covers planting, feeding and seasonal care.

Sustainability & Packaging

Is your packaging recyclable?

Yes - 100%. Our boxes are FSC-certified recycled cardboard. Our fitted plant inserts are paper pulp. No plastic, fully recyclable in your household recycling.

Are your plant trays recyclable?

Yes. Our 6-pack trays carry the OPRL stamp - they're made from 100% recycled drinks bottles and go in your household plastics recycling.

Do you use black plastic pots?

No. We've removed black plastic from our operation because it can't be sorted by recycling plants and ends up in landfill.

Returns & Refunds

Can I return a plant if I've changed my mind?

Because plants are live and picked to order, we can't accept change-of-mind returns. If you've ordered the wrong variety, contact us as soon as possible - if we haven't packed it yet, we'll do our best to amend.

How do I return a non-plant item?

Unused, non-plant items can be returned in their original condition within 14 days. Email us first for a returns address - return postage is your responsibility unless the item arrived faulty.
