Collection: Houseplants

Houseplants for every room and every level of experience, from easy-going trailers for a shelf to large statement plants that fill a corner.

Many come with a choice of planter. Pick one on the product page and your plant is potted into your chosen planter before it ships, ready to go straight on the windowsill or the floor.

Not sure where to start? Easy Care Houseplants cope with ordinary rooms and the odd missed watering. Low Light Houseplants suit north-facing rooms and hallways. Large Houseplants fill a corner on their own, and Trailing Houseplants spill over a shelf or a hanging planter.

Each product page tells you the light and watering a plant prefers, its pot size and anything you need to know about pets, so you can match it to your home before you buy. Every plant is checked by hand before it's packed.

Choosing houseplants for your home

Nearly every houseplant that dies does so for one of two reasons: the wrong light, or too much water. Get those right and the rest is easy. Match the plant to the room you actually have rather than the room you wish you had. A bright window suits sun lovers, a north-facing room suits leafy plants from the forest floor, and almost nothing thrives in a dark corner with no natural light at all.

Water only when the top few centimetres of compost feel dry, and always let the pot drain. Large house plants and tall house plants make the biggest difference to a room, filling an empty corner the way furniture cannot.

Common questions

Which houseplants are easiest to look after?
Plants that tolerate irregular watering and lower light are the most forgiving, including snake plants, pothos, ZZ plants and spider plants. Each product page lists the light and watering that plant prefers.
How often should I water a houseplant?
Less often than most people think. Check the compost first and only water when the top few centimetres are dry. More houseplants are killed by overwatering than by drought.
Which houseplants suit a dark room?
No plant grows in true darkness, but ferns, pothos and snake plants cope well with low light. If a room has no natural daylight at all, consider a grow light.
Do houseplants come in pots?
Pot details are listed on each product page. Where a plant is supplied without a decorative pot you will find planters in our Accessories range.
