Begonia 'Illumination White' is a trailing tuberous begonia that pours creamy white double flowers over the edge of baskets and containers all summer long.
The large, fully double flowers have densely layered, ruffled petals in a creamy white with the faintest touch of soft yellow at the centre, framed by lush, dark green foliage. The plant has a mounded, trailing habit, so it spills over the sides of hanging baskets, window boxes and containers and builds into a flowing canopy of colour that lasts until the first frosts. Keep it out of hot midday sun, water so the compost never dries out and remove faded flowers, and it will not stop.
Give it partial shade and a fertile, moist but well-drained compost, and it will flower where sunnier plants struggle. It is not hardy outdoors, so plant out only when the frosts are over, then lift the tubers in autumn or replace the plants next year. Begonias are harmful if eaten.
