Fuchsia 'Bella Evita' is a bedding fuchsia that carries red and white bell flowers in quantity from late spring through to autumn.
The blooms are pendulous and two tone, hanging clear of fresh green foliage, and they keep coming for as long as the plant is watered and fed. Growth is compact enough for a basket or a window box at around 20 to 50cm tall, and it spreads or trails to roughly 30 to 60cm.
Plant it in a hanging basket, a window box, a patio container or towards the front of a summer bed. It wants a bright, sheltered spot in fertile compost that holds moisture without waterlogging, with a weekly feed once it is growing strongly. Bees and other beneficial insects work the flowers. Plants are supplied as large, well rooted 10.5cm plants grown in peat free compost, often already in bud, in a set of three or six. Fuchsias are not frost hardy, so wait until the frosts have passed before planting them out.
