Hosta 'Francee' is a hardy shade perennial grown for bold, textured foliage that lifts the darkest corner of a garden.
The broad, ribbed leaves build into a dense mounded clump that holds its shape from spring until the plant dies back in autumn, and slim stems of pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage in summer. Plants of this range reach roughly 35 to 70cm tall and 45 to 90cm across, so three fill a shaded border or a generous pot without crowding.
Supplied as well established plants in 1 litre pots, ready to go straight into moisture retentive ground or a container of peat free compost. Keep them damp through dry spells, feed lightly in spring, and they will come back larger every year. They sit well beside ferns, heucheras and astilbes.
