Fuchsia 'Tom Thumb' is a dwarf hardy fuchsia, covered from midsummer in small red and violet purple flowers.

It forms a neat bushy mound around 30 to 45cm tall and wide, with small mid green leaves, and carries masses of dainty semi double blooms with short rich red sepals over violet purple petals. That compact size suits patio pots, window boxes, edging and the front of a border. Bees and butterflies work the flowers.

This is one of the hardy border fuchsias, so it can stay in the ground all year. In a cold winter the top growth dies back and fresh shoots come from the base in spring. It does best in light shade or morning sun in soil that stays moist, as flowers drop in hot, dry spells. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Each plant arrives as an established 1L rootball grown in peat free compost, ready to plant straight out.
