Geranium Calliope Dark Red is a Calliope geranium, a cross between the zonal and ivy leaved types, grown for large semi double flowers that keep coming all summer.
Calliope plants are vigorous and free flowering, with a semi trailing to mounding habit that spills gently over the edge of a pot, a window box or a hanging basket. Flowering runs from late spring until the first frost, so a single plant will carry a container through the whole season.
Each plant arrives as a large, well established root ball in a 1 litre pot, grown peat free, and most arrive in bud or already opening. Plant it in full sun or light shade in fertile, free draining soil or compost, water regularly but let the surface dry a little between waterings, and take off spent flowers to keep new ones forming. Geraniums are not hardy, so plant out after the frosts and lift the plant into a frost free place over winter if you want to keep it for another year.
