Begonia 'Mocca Yellow' is a compact tuberous begonia with fully double sunny yellow flowers set against dramatic chocolate-brown leaves, bringing instant colour to shady spots.
The dark, glossy foliage is what sets the Mocca series apart: every flower colour in the range pops against it, and 'Yellow' gives you sunny yellow blooms in rich contrast. Mounded in habit and tidy in growth, it holds its shape at around 20 to 30cm tall and 25 to 40cm across while flowering without a break from early summer to the first frost, and the grower lists it as attracting pollinators.
Give it part shade or shade in pots, baskets or a shaded bed, or use it to add depth to a woodland-style border. It wants moist, fertile compost and very little fuss. It is a tender perennial grown as an annual in the UK, so plant out only when the frosts are over and lift the tubers or replace the plant in autumn. Begonias are harmful if eaten.
Supplied as one fresh, fully established plant in a 2L pot, grown peat-free at the Yorkshire nursery and usually already in bud or bloom on arrival.
