Bellis 'Habanera Red' is a double English daisy with large, fluffy, quilled rich red flowers from spring into early summer, fully hardy and ideal for edging and pots.

The Habanera series carries some of the largest flowers in the Bellis family: fully double, pincushion blooms with long quilled petals in a rich red. Plants stay compact, around 15 to 25cm tall and 15 to 20cm wide, forming a low rosette of fresh green, spoon-shaped leaves.

Use it to edge a path, tuck into a rockery, plant in a mass for a carpet of spring colour, or combine it in patio containers and window boxes with pansies, violas and primroses. It is fully hardy right across Britain and is normally planted in autumn to flower through spring, in full sun or partial shade in a moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. It needs little looking after: water in dry spells, particularly in pots, deadhead regularly, and divide in autumn if you want more plants. Slugs and snails can go for young leaves.

Supplied as one well-established plant in a 2 litre root ball, outdoor garden ready.
