Hellebore 'Glenda's Gloss' – Winter Flowering Perennial (2L Pot)

Hellebore 'Glenda's Gloss' is one of the Frostkiss hellebores, bred to flower through the coldest weeks of the year.

The nodding cups open from late winter into early spring above dense, marbled evergreen foliage, on a clump around 40 to 60cm each way. There is very little else in flower then, so the early nectar matters: bees work hellebores on any mild winter day. The foliage carries the plant for the rest of the year.

Plant it in partial or full shade in soil that stays moist but drains, under deciduous shrubs, along a shaded path or in a pot by a door where you will actually see it in February. Cut the old leathery leaves away in midwinter so the flowers are not hidden, then mulch. Deer and rabbits tend to leave hellebores alone. It arrives as an established plant with a sturdy crown in a 2L pot.
