Fuchsia 'Alice Hoffman' is a compact hardy fuchsia with rose pink sepals and a white corolla veined with pink.
It makes a neat bushy dwarf shrub around 45 to 60cm tall and wide, with small bronze green leaves, and flowers from June through to October. Planted in a group it makes a low informal hedge, and it is just as happy in a border, a patio pot or a window box. Single flowers like these are far better for bees than the big doubles.
This is one of the hardy border fuchsias, so it can stay in the ground all year. In a cold winter the top growth dies back and fresh shoots come from the base in spring. It keeps some of its leaves through a mild winter. It does best in light shade or morning sun in soil that stays moist, as flowers drop in hot, dry spells. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Supplied as an established 2L rootball in its nursery pot, grown in peat free compost and ready to plant out.
