Dense spikes of aromatic flowers over silvery green foliage on one of the most reliable English lavenders.

'Hidcote' forms a tidy rounded mound, typically 40 to 60cm tall with a similar spread, which makes it a good choice for edging a path, filling a sunny border, planting a low hedge or filling a patio container. The flowers open from early to mid summer and bring bees and butterflies with them.

Supplied as a strong 2L pot grown plant with a well developed root system, so it settles quickly after planting. Grow it in full sun in free draining soil, ideally sandy or gravelly; water while it establishes and then only in a long dry spell. Trim lightly after flowering to keep it compact, and never cut into bare old wood.
