Lupin 'Legendary Blue Shades' – Hardy Cottage Garden Perennial (2L Pot)

Few plants add summer height and drama like a lupin, and the Legendary Shades give bold spires on strong, upright stems.

Densely packed flower spikes in blue rise above neat mounds of palmate blue green foliage from late spring into midsummer, standing 90 to 100cm tall and around 50cm across. The nectar rich flowers pull in bees and butterflies, and the vertical shape lifts a border that has gone flat and round. It looks its best mass planted in drifts, or threaded between echinacea, coreopsis, alliums and foxgloves.

Supplied as a large, well rooted 2 litre plant grown in peat free compost, so it establishes quickly and flowers strongly in its first summer. Plant into well drained, slightly acid to neutral soil in sun or light dappled shade, in a border or a good sized container. The foliage stays through to autumn before the plant dies back for winter.
