Delivery details'Mucurines' is a German bred dessert gooseberry with large, smooth skinned green berries and a sweet, juicy flavour.
It is a compact, bushy grower, which makes it manageable in a small fruit garden or a large patio pot, and it has good resistance to American gooseberry mildew. The fruit is sweet enough for eating fresh and holds its shape well in cooking, jams and preserves.
One plant crops on its own. Give it a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter, and water through dry spells while the fruit is filling. Prune in winter to an open goblet framework so air can circulate through the bush, mulch in spring and feed with a balanced fertiliser as growth begins. The stems carry thorns, so wear gloves when you pick.
Supplied as an established bush in a 2 litre pot, ready to plant.
