Canna 'Tropicanna Gold' has boldly striped green and gold leaves and vivid golden yellow flowers.
The large, lance shaped leaves are striped green and gold and make a statement long before the flowers arrive from July into October. Plants reach around 90 to 150cm tall and 50 to 60cm across, which suits the back of a border or a large pot on a sunny terrace.
Plant it out once the frosts have passed, usually from late May, in full sun to light shade with rich, moisture retentive soil. Water freely and feed through summer for the best display. Canna is not hardy here: lift the rhizomes in autumn and store them cool and frost free, or move the pot under cover. In a mild seaside garden it copes with wind and salt, but it still needs lifting.
Supplied as one potted plant in a 3 litre pot, ready to plant out or pot on.
