Canna 'Tropicanna' – Canna Lily with Striped Foliage (3L Pot)

Canna 'Tropicanna' is grown above all for its foliage, striped bronze purple, pink, red, orange and gold.

The large paddle shaped leaves emerge rich burgundy purple and develop their stripes as they mature, then tangerine orange flowers follow from midsummer into early autumn. Plants reach around 120 to 150cm tall and 50 to 60cm across. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

Give it a warm, sheltered spot in full sun with rich, moisture retentive soil, and water and feed generously through the growing season. Canna is not hardy here: in a mild garden mulch the crown deeply over winter, and in a colder one lift the rhizomes after the first frosts and store them in barely moist compost somewhere cool and frost free until spring. It takes wind and salt in a mild seaside garden.

Supplied as a well established plant in a 3 litre pot, ready to plant out or pot on.
