1 Ceanothus Yankee Point California Lilac Plant, Blue Flowering Evergreen Shrub, 3L Root-Ball

Regular price £19.99

Ceanothus 'Yankee Point' is a stunning low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub prized for its profusion of vivid blue flower clusters that smother the plant in late spring and early summer. A member of the California Lilac family, this variety is particularly valued for its dense, ground-hugging habit and glossy dark green foliage, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, sunny banks, borders, and wall-side planting. Highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, it brings both colour and wildlife to the garden.

This plant is supplied in a 3 litre pot, well-established and ready for planting out.

Plant Features:

  • Masses of bright blue flower clusters in late spring to early summer

  • Glossy, dark green evergreen foliage providing year-round interest

  • Low, spreading growth habit – ideal as ground cover or for cascading over walls

  • Thrives in full sun and well-drained soil

  • Drought tolerant once established

  • Highly attractive to bees, butterflies and pollinators

Planting and Care:

Plant in a sheltered position in full sun with well-drained soil. Ceanothus does not thrive in heavy, waterlogged clay. Avoid exposed, very windy sites. Once established, this plant is reasonably drought tolerant and requires minimal watering. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape – avoid cutting back into old wood as Ceanothus does not regenerate well from hard pruning. A sheltered south or west-facing aspect is ideal.
