Hosta 'Silly Strings' (Plantain Lily) – Miniature Shade Perennial (3L Pot)

Hosta 'Silly Strings' is a miniature hosta with extraordinarily narrow, twisting leaves unlike any other variety.

The string like leaves are deep green with creamy white margins and curl as they grow, building a neat mound only 15 to 20cm tall and 30 to 40cm across. That makes it a plant for the front of a shaded border, a raised bed or a decorative pot, where the texture can be seen close up. Pale lavender flowers rise above the foliage in mid to late summer before the plant dies back naturally in autumn.

Supplied garden ready in a 3 litre pot, established and ready to plant straight out. It is exceptionally shade tolerant, so north facing borders and woodland schemes suit it, and it is thought of as more slug resistant than most hostas. Keep the soil moist, and divide the clump every three or four years to keep it vigorous. It pairs well with ferns, astilbe, heuchera and tiarella.
