Lupin 'Legendary Red Shades' – Hardy Cottage Garden Perennial (3L Pot)

A classic English garden perennial, this Legendary lupin throws up tall spikes in rich red shades through early summer.

The dense, upright flower towers emerge from hand shaped mid green foliage in June and July, standing 50 to 80cm tall and 40 to 50cm across. It earns its place at the back of a border, in a mixed perennial bed or in a large patio container, and the spikes are excellent cut for the house. Bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects work the flowers all through the flowering season.

Supplied as a large, established plant in a 3 litre root ball, ready to plant straight out for impact in the same season. Give it a sunny or partially shaded spot in well drained, slightly acid to neutral soil, water it in well, and deadhead the spent spikes to encourage more. It dies back for winter and returns each spring.
