Grape Vine 'Strawberry Wine' – Sweet Dessert Grape (3L Pot)

'Strawberry Wine' is a self fertile grape with an unusual strawberry note to its sweet, edible fruit.

It is a vigorous climber, good on a trellis, pergola, wall, fence or arbour, and it crops well in a container on a patio or balcony where space is short. The foliage is handsome through summer and colours before it drops.

The vine itself is fully hardy right across Britain, but hardiness and ripening are two different things: the grapes need a warm, sheltered, sunny spot, ideally against a south or west facing wall, to ripen properly outdoors. Choose a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil; most soil types suit it. Give it a sturdy support to climb, water while it establishes and feed through the growing season. Prune in late winter while dormant, cutting last season's growth back to one or two buds from the main framework to build fruiting spurs.

Supplied as an established, pot grown vine in a 3 litre pot.
