Begonia 'Nonstop Mocca Deep Orange' pairs fully double, rose-like deep orange flowers with dark chocolate-brown foliage, a striking begonia for shaded pots and borders.
The Nonstop Mocca series is a tuberous bedding begonia grown as much for its leaves as for its flowers. The foliage is a deep chocolate-brown, close to black, and it makes the deep orange blooms look brighter than they would against plain green. Flowers keep coming from late spring right through to autumn without any need to deadhead.
Plants are compact and bushy, forming a tidy mound around 20 to 30cm tall and 25 to 40cm across. That neat, upright habit suits patio containers, window boxes and the front of a shaded border. Give it partial shade or light sun and a moist, fertile soil that never sits waterlogged, and water regularly to keep the compost evenly moist. It is tender, so plant out only once the frosts are over and treat it as a summer plant, or lift the tuber in autumn and store it somewhere frost free. It asks for very little effort in return for months of colour.
Supplied as a large, well-established plant in a 5 litre pot, grown peat-free at our Yorkshire nursery and ready to plant straight into its final position. Harmful if eaten.
