Delivery details

Polyanthus Piano Blue plants bring a bold splash of rich blue to the garden in spring, with exceptionally large, velvety flowers, each with a distinctive yellow eye. You receive 12 plants, growing in 2 trays of 6 cells with one plant to a cell.

The Piano series is renowned for its compact, bushy growth and strong, reliable performance, which makes it one of the most popular polyanthus varieties. The crinkled, mid-green leaves form a neat rosette, and the flowers appear from late winter through spring. Deadhead spent blooms to keep the display going. Like all primulas, polyanthus can cause stomach upset and skin irritation if eaten, and the sap may irritate skin, so wash your hands after handling.

These fully hardy plants are ready to plant into a patio container, a window box or a cottage garden border. They grow well in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil or multipurpose compost that is never allowed to dry out or become waterlogged. Water regularly and the plants ask for very little else. Bees and other early pollinators visit the flowers.
