A compact photinia with cherry red new growth over glossy dark green, supplied as a large established plant.

'Louise' is a naturally tidier selection of the red robin family, around 1.5 to 2.5m tall by 1 to 1.5m across, which suits a lower hedge or a smaller garden without constant cutting back. Fresh flushes of vivid cherry red foliage appear through the growing season against the mature dark green, and clusters of small creamy white flowers open in late spring and bring in pollinators.

It is fully hardy and easy going, taking most soils and conditions once established, though a sheltered spot protects the young leaves from late frosts. Water through the first season, feed in spring, and prune in spring or after flowering to shape and to bring on more red growth. For a hedge, allow about 60 to 80cm between plants. Supplied garden ready with a 26cm root ball in a 7.5L pot.
