Dracaena (Dragon Tree) – Evergreen Houseplant (12cm Pot)

The Dragon Tree (Dracaena marginata) is one of the most recognisable houseplants around, prized for its slender, arching leaves edged in deep red and its bold, architectural form.

It brings structure and natural elegance to a living room, bedroom, home office or windowsill, and is forgiving of a little neglect, tolerating a wide range of indoor conditions and adapting well to lower light levels.

It arrives as an established plant in a 12cm pot, ready to display. Position it in bright, indirect light for the best growth, though it will cope with a shadier spot, and let the top layer of compost dry out between waterings rather than keeping it constantly moist.

Feed lightly with a balanced liquid fertiliser through spring and summer, wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them free of dust, and keep the plant away from cold draughts, radiators and air conditioning vents. Overwatering is the most common cause of problems, so when in doubt, leave it dry.

Dracaena is toxic to cats, dogs, rabbits and rodents if eaten, so keep it out of reach of pets.
