Common questions
What makes a perennial hardy?
A hardy perennial can live outside through a British winter without protection. It dies back in the cold months and regrows from its roots each spring, so you plant it once and it comes back year after year.
When should I plant perennials?
Spring and autumn are ideal, while the soil is warm and moist. Container-grown perennials like ours can be planted in most months if you water them in well. Each product page has a planting calendar for that variety.
Which perennials grow in shade?
More than you would think. Hostas, tiarellas, heucheras and many ferns all thrive out of direct sun. Use the Best position filter on this page to see every shade loving perennial we sell.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is free on UK mainland orders over £40, and £3.99 on orders under £40. Dispatch days and timings are on our Delivery page.
