Collection: Choisya

Choisya, or Mexican orange blossom, is a tidy evergreen shrub with glossy leaves and scented white flowers that bees love.

It's hardy in most of Britain and happy in sun or partial shade, with a little shelter from cold, drying winds, which can scorch the leaves. It's low maintenance and deer resistant, and works in a large pot as well as a border.

The golden-leaved forms, 'Sundance', 'Goldfinger' and 'Aztec Gold', light up a border all year but scorch in strong midday sun, so give them a little shade. 'White Dazzler' and plain Choisya ternata have green leaves.

Plant from March to May or September to November. Grown peat-free in Yorkshire.
