Bidens 'Brazen Imperial Luck' is an upright, mounding summer bedding plant with richly saturated red daisy flowers over dark green, finely divided foliage.
Unlike most bidens this one does not trail. It forms a neat upright mound, uniform from plant to plant, which makes it right for garden beds, patio containers and window boxes where you want colour that stands up rather than spills over. The red flowers keep coming from the height of summer into the crisp days of autumn and their nectar draws bees and butterflies.
Give it full sun and a well-drained, fertile soil. Once established it copes with dry spells, though regular watering and a fortnightly liquid feed keep it flowering hard. It grows fast, needs little attention and largely cleans up after itself, so deadheading is optional. Because it grows fast it soon fills a basket or trough and mixes well with other trailing summer plants. It is not hardy: plant out after the last frost and treat it as a summer plant.
