A neat small leaved evergreen with bright yellow margins that lifts a dull corner in every season.

Euonymus japonicus 'Microphyllus Aureovariegatus' carries tiny leaves, each a deep green centre inside a bright yellow margin, on a dense upright little bush. The small leaf makes it one of the tidiest evergreens for edging, low clipped hedges and pots, and it holds its colour through the winter when there is little else to look at.

It will grow almost anywhere: full sun, partial shade or deep shade, most soils, cold gardens and seaside gardens, and it takes a clip whenever it needs one. Left alone it mounds up and spreads, and set against a wall it will climb slowly of its own accord. Variegated forms colour best with some sun and throw the occasional plain green shoot, which wants cutting out. All euonymus are poisonous to cats and dogs. Supplied as three or six well grown 1L plants, enough for a run of edging or a low clipped hedge.
