Tomato 'Consuelo' – Cordon Cherry Tomato (Set of 3 or 6)

Tomato 'Consuelo' is a heavy cropping cherry variety grown as a cordon, prized for sweet, richly flavoured fruit.

Grown up a cane or a string it reaches 150 to 200cm and spreads about 50cm, carrying vigorous vines hung with glossy, bite sized red tomatoes. It is a modern variety with resistance to early and late blight and to the common wilts, which takes a good deal of the worry out of a wet British summer. Plants come with large, fully developed root balls and are ready to go straight into a patio pot, a container or a bed.

Plants are grown in peat free compost in Yorkshire and arrive with well established rootballs, ready to go into their final pot or bed once all risk of frost has passed. Water evenly rather than in fits and starts, since erratic watering causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and begin a high potassium feed once the first fruits start to swell. The fruit is for eating, but the leaves and stems belong to the same family as potato and are a known risk to pets.
