Delivery detailsSaxifraga 'Dancing Pixies Tally' is a compact, hardy evergreen perennial, an autumn saxifrage that brings dainty sprays of soft pink flowers to shady corners just as most borders are fading. The flowers are held on slender, arching stems above neat clumps of rounded, scalloped leaves, giving a graceful, airy look.
It suits borders, the foot of shrubs, shady rock gardens and containers. The evergreen foliage gives low, tidy interest through the year, and the plant spreads into a modest clump that needs very little fuss. It is a good choice for experienced gardeners and beginners alike.
It arrives as an established plant in a 1.5 litre pot, ready to grow on or plant out. Give it partial or full shade in a sheltered spot out of cold wind, in moist but well drained, humus rich soil. It will scorch and flag in hot sun or dry soil, so keep it watered in dry spells. It also does well in pots with drainage holes.
Upkeep is light. Remove spent flower stems to keep it tidy, and watch for slugs, aphids and vine weevil in pots.
