Calendula 'Fiesta Orange' is a compact pot marigold, covered in bright orange daisy flowers from late spring into autumn.

The Fiesta series is a dwarf, uniform form of Calendula officinalis, making a bushy plant around 20 to 30cm tall and wide with semi double flowers held just above aromatic mid to dark green leaves. It is the one properly hardy plant in the summer bedding group, quite unlike the French and African marigolds it is often confused with, and an autumn sown plant will sit out a British winter outdoors.

Grow it in full sun, or light shade, in any well drained soil; once established it copes with dry ground. Deadhead through the season and it keeps flowering, and the stems cut well for a small vase. Bees and hoverflies work the open flowers. The petals are edible and add colour to a salad. Plants are supplied as strong 1L rootballs grown peat free at our Yorkshire nursery.
