Planting and Care:

Plant in a sunny or partially shaded position in well-drained soil. Knautia is unfussy and tolerates a wide range of soil types, though it thrives in moderately fertile, well-drained ground. Deadhead regularly to encourage a longer flowering display. Cut back old stems in late autumn or early spring to encourage fresh basal growth. Established plants may self-seed gently, adding to the naturalistic feel of a planting scheme.
