A border stonecrop with fleshy grey green leaves and broad heads of rich pink flower that open in late summer and carry on into autumn.
'Oracle' forms a neat upright clump about 40 to 50cm each way. The succulent foliage looks good from spring onwards, the flower heads colour up late in the year when much else is going over, and the dried seed heads are worth leaving standing through the winter for their shape.
Plant it in an open position in well drained soil. It is happy in poor or sandy ground, needs no feeding, and once established it is thoroughly drought tolerant. It takes exposed, windy and coastal sites without complaint and grows well in a pot. Waterlogged soil is the only real risk.
The late flowers are one of the best nectar sources in the garden at that point in the season, and they cut well. Cut the old stems back in early spring as the new shoots appear. Supplied as a set of three or six plants, each as a well rooted root ball ready for planting.
