Sedum oreganum (Oregon Stonecrop) – Hardy Perennial (Set of 3 or 6)

Oregon stonecrop is a low, mat forming succulent that spreads into a dense carpet of fleshy green leaves and flowers bright yellow in summer.

Each plant stays around 10 to 15cm high and spreads 20 to 30cm, knitting together with its neighbours to make weed suppressing cover. The rounded leaves often take on red tones in strong sun and through the colder months, so there is something to look at all year, and the star shaped yellow flowers bring bees in over the summer.

It wants sun or light shade and sharp drainage, and it thrives on lean, poor soil where little else will grow. That makes it a natural for a rock garden, a green roof, a gravel bed, a dry border, or the gaps in a wall or paving. Avoid winter wet and do not feed it.

Space the plants roughly 20 to 25cm apart so they can close up into a mat. Supplied as a set of three or six plants, each as a 1 litre root ball ready for planting.
