Campanula persicifolia 'Caerulea' is the peach leaved bellflower, with soft blue bells on tall slender stems.
The cup shaped flowers open in succession up the stems from June to August, held above a low rosette of narrow leaves that stays through winter. Plants reach around 60 to 90cm tall and 30 to 45cm across and sit beautifully among roses and other traditional border plants.
Grow it in sun or partial shade in most soils that stay moist but drain freely, in a border or a deep pot. It is fully hardy and long lived, the flowers are nectar rich for bees and the stems cut well. It seeds about freely, so deadhead unless you want it to spread, and watch for slugs and snails on the young growth in spring.
