Coreopsis 'Sunfire' (Tickseed) – Hardy Perennial (Set of 3 or 6)

Coreopsis 'Sunfire' is a free flowering tickseed, golden yellow with a rich mahogany red centre.

The semi double flowers come in masses from June to September on a compact bushy clump around 40 to 50cm tall and 30 to 40cm across, good at the front of a border or in a container.

Grow it in full sun in free draining soil. It is hardy through a normal winter here but rots in wet ground, so drainage matters more than feeding. Once settled it copes with dry spells and asks for little beyond regular deadheading to keep the flowers coming, in a border, a gravel scheme or a patio pot. Bees and butterflies work it constantly and the stems cut well. Coreopsis grandiflora is short lived and often behaves like an annual, so divide the clump every couple of years to keep it going.

Supplied as three or six plants, each as an established 1 litre root ball, ready to plant out or pot on.
