A perennial wallflower whose flower clusters shift through orange, apricot and soft lilac as they open, so one plant carries several shades at once.
Spring Feeling is compact, around 30 to 40cm each way, with a neat bushy habit and narrow dark green evergreen leaves that hold the shape through winter. The scented flowers start in early spring and keep going into summer, often with repeat flushes, and bees and butterflies are on them from the first warm day.
It suits the front of a border, a rockery or a patio pot, in full sun or light shade with free draining soil. Add grit to heavy ground, because wet winter soil is what kills these rather than cold. Once settled it needs very little water. Trim it lightly after the main flush to keep it tidy, and take cuttings every few years before the plant goes woody. Supplied as an established 11cm root ball.
