Delivery detailsExcelsior Hybrids are tall foxgloves whose spotted bells are held out around the stem rather than hanging to one side, so you see right into them.
The colours come as a mix of cream, pink, purple, rose and white, every one freckled inside the throat, on spires reaching 120 to 150cm. Bees work them from June to August, and the spikes are good for cutting. Because they are grown from a seed mix, the plants in your set will not all be the same colour.
Foxgloves are happiest in partial shade or a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, in soil with plenty of organic matter that stays moist but never waterlogged. Space them 30 to 45cm apart along a woodland edge or through a cottage border. Most foxgloves are biennial or short lived, so leave a few spikes to set seed and they will keep coming back on their own. Every part of a foxglove is highly poisonous, so choose where you plant it with care. Supplied as a set of three or six plants, each in a 1L pot.
You can choose a set of three or a set of six.
