Geum 'Lady Stratheden' throws up warm golden yellow, semi-double flowers on wiry stems from June through to September.

It is a cottage garden classic with an RHS Award of Garden Merit behind it. The slightly ruffled blooms are held well above fresh green rosettes, they cut beautifully for the house, and the nectar brings in bees and butterflies through the whole of that long season. Plant several together and you get a drift of yellow rather than a dot.

It wants fertile soil that stays moist without turning waterlogged, in sun or light shade. Waterlogging over winter is the one thing that kills it, so avoid a soggy corner. Deadhead through the season to keep the flowers coming, tidy the old foliage in autumn and split congested clumps in spring. Supplied as three or six established plants in 1L pots, ready for a border or a container.

You can choose a set of three or a set of six.
