Begonia 'Fragrant Falls Lemon' is a tender summer begonia that flowers continuously from late spring to autumn in lemon-yellow shades, for baskets, containers and shady corners.
Begonias are valued for flowering freely in the places where many plants struggle. The blooms keep coming from late spring through autumn above glossy green or bronze-toned foliage, and depending on the variety the plant forms a compact mound or sends out gently cascading stems that spill over the edge of a basket or pot. Expect a plant of around 25 to 40cm tall and 30 to 50cm across.
Give it partial shade or shade and a moist, fertile, well-drained soil, watering regularly so the compost stays evenly moist, especially in containers. It needs little looking after beyond removing damaged leaves. It is grown as summer bedding in the UK and is not hardy, so plant out only when the frosts are over and lift or replace it in autumn. Begonias are harmful if eaten.
Supplied as one strong, well-established plant in a 2L (approx. 17cm) pot, grown peat-free at the Yorkshire nursery, with a dense root system that settles in quickly.
