Freesia 'Red River' – Fragrant Summer Perennial (2L Pot)

Freesia 'Red River' carries deep red, sweetly scented flowers on wiry stems through the summer.

The colour is unusually strong for a freesia and it holds well in a vase, so this is one to plant where you will cut from it. The narrow sword shaped leaves make a tidy clump, and it suits a border front, a raised bed or a patio pot.

Give it a warm, sheltered spot in full sun or light shade, in fertile soil that drains freely, or grow it in a pot on the patio where you can manage the drainage and move it under cover. It is not a hardy plant. In colder gardens mulch the corms in autumn, or lift them and store them dry and frost free until spring. It arrives as an established plant in a 2L pot.
