Heuchera 'Wild Rose' is a coral bells, a compact evergreen perennial grown mainly for the colour of its leaves.

Its rounded, lobed leaves are rose-pink with subtle silver overtones. It makes a tidy, clump-forming mound that keeps its leaves right through a British winter, and in summer slender stems carry airy sprays of small bell-shaped flowers above the foliage, worked by bees and butterflies.

Heucheras will grow anywhere from full sun to shade, and the leaf colour decides which suits best: dark leaved forms take far more sun, while pale and lime coloured ones scorch in a bright spot and are better in shade. They want moist soil that drains freely and dislike ground that stays soggy in winter, which is the one thing that rots them. Use them along the front of a border, as low ground cover under taller planting, or in a patio pot where the foliage is close to eye level. Supplied as an established plant grown in peat-free compost at our Yorkshire nursery, ready to plant straight out.
