A compact evergreen shield fern with finely cut, dark green fronds and a neat, tidy habit.
The Korean rock fern is one of the smallest of the shield ferns, which makes it useful where a big shuttlecock would swamp its neighbours: the front of a shaded border, a stonework edge, a rockery pocket or a courtyard pot. The fronds stay on the plant all year.
Each plant is supplied as a fresh, well established 2L root ball, grown in peat free compost. They are larger and more mature than plugs, so they arrive fully rooted and ready to go straight into the ground or a pot.
Give it partial to full shade and soil that drains freely; like all the shield ferns it resents sitting wet through winter. Tidy old fronds away as needed.
