A popular and reliable variety, Consuelo produces generous trusses of sweet, bite-sized cherry tomatoes with a rich, well-balanced flavour. Supplied as a strong, established plant in a 2 litre root ball, it is ready to be planted outdoors in a sunny, sheltered spot or grown on in a greenhouse or polytunnel for an even earlier harvest.

Consuelo is an indeterminate (cordon) variety, meaning it will continue to grow and fruit throughout the season when regularly side-shooted and supported with a sturdy cane or stake. The compact, deep red fruits are perfect for salads, snacking, pasta dishes, and roasting. This variety is well suited to containers, grow bags, raised beds, and traditional vegetable plots.

Growing Tips:

• Plant outdoors once all risk of frost has passed, or grow under cover for earlier cropping.


• Choose a warm, sunny, and sheltered position for the best results.


• Water regularly and feed with a high-potash tomato fertiliser once the first truss of fruit begins to set.


• Remove side shoots regularly to encourage strong, upward growth and maximise fruit production.


• Support the main stem with a cane or stake as the plant grows.
