Tomato 'Sweet Million' – Cordon Cherry Tomato (2L Pot)

Tomato 'Sweet Million' is an F1 cherry tomato that carries long trusses of small, intensely sweet fruit from July to October.

The fruits are bright red and about 2 to 3cm across, sweet enough that most of them never reach the kitchen. It is an improved successor to Sweet 100, with better disease resistance and a heavier crop, and it is forgiving enough for a first-time grower.

Sweet Million is a vigorous indeterminate cordon reaching 1.5 to 1.8m, so run it up a cane, a stake or a string, remove the side shoots as they appear and pick often. It wants full sun and shelter, whether that is a greenhouse, a sunny border, a raised bed or a large container. Plant it out only once all risk of frost has passed, because tomatoes are killed outright by the first frost and set back badly by cold nights. Water evenly rather than in bursts, since erratic watering is what causes blossom end rot and split fruit, and feed with a high-potash tomato feed once the first truss has set. Supplied as one established plant in a 2 litre pot. Tomato foliage is in the same family as potato and is a known risk to pets, so keep animals away from the plants.
