Canna 'Tropicanna Black' – Dark Leaved Canna Lily (3L Pot)

Canna 'Tropicanna Black' is grown for dramatic burgundy black leaves and vivid red summer flowers.

Broad, lance shaped leaves in deep burgundy black give a strong upright shape, and the red flowers follow from July into October. Plants reach around 120 to 150cm tall and 50 to 60cm across, which makes a real statement at the back of a border or in a large patio pot.

Give it a warm, sheltered spot in full sun, rich soil that holds moisture, and plenty of water and feed while it is growing. Canna is not hardy here: lift the rhizomes after the first frost and store them cool and frost free, or move the pot under cover for winter. In a mild seaside garden it takes the wind and salt, but it still needs lifting.

Supplied as a well established plant in a 3 litre pot, ready to plant out or pot on.
