Choisya 'White Dazzler' (Mexican Orange Blossom) – Scented Evergreen Shrub (3L Pot)

A compact evergreen that covers itself in scented white flowers in late spring above narrow, glossy leaves.

Choisya 'White Dazzler' is a neater, smaller growing form of the Mexican orange blossom, making a rounded bush of around 1.2m tall and wide. The narrow, dark green, aromatic leaves are held all year, and in late spring the plant disappears under small white star shaped flowers with a citrus scent. A second flush often follows in autumn, and bees and butterflies work the flowers while they last.

Grow it in full sun or partial shade in well drained soil, in a border, a low informal hedge or a large pot by a door where the scent is noticed. It is hardy in most of Britain, though cold drying winds can scorch the leaves, so a little shelter helps. Deer and rabbits tend to leave it alone. A light trim after flowering keeps it compact and can bring on the autumn flush.
