Coreopsis 'Solar Fancy' (Tickseed) – Hardy Perennial (3L Pot)

Coreopsis 'Solar Fancy' is a tickseed with golden yellow petals ringed burgundy red at the centre.

The bicolour flowers come in quantity from June to September on sturdy stems above neat, fine textured foliage, making a compact mound around 40 to 50cm tall and 30 to 40cm across.

Grow it in full sun in free draining soil. It is hardy through a normal winter here but rots in wet ground, so drainage matters more than feeding. Once settled it copes with dry spells and asks for little beyond regular deadheading to keep the flowers coming, in a border, a gravel scheme or a patio pot. Bees and butterflies work it constantly and the stems cut well. Coreopsis grandiflora is short lived and often behaves like an annual, so divide the clump every couple of years to keep it going.

Supplied as a well established plant in a 3 litre pot, ready to plant straight out.
