Nemesia 'Lady Mary' – Scented Patio Plant (5L Pot)

Nemesia 'Lady Mary' carries masses of small, softly scented flowers from late spring right through to early autumn.

The flowers are two lipped and snapdragon like, held in loose clusters over neat mounds of fresh green foliage. Plants build a tidy bushy shape around 30 to 45cm tall and wide and keep flowering without going leggy, so one plant will hold a container together for a whole season. The scent is light and carries best on a warm evening, which is an argument for putting it near a doorway or a seat.

Grow it in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil that stays moist but drains freely, and trim it lightly after the first flush to bring on the next. Bees and other pollinators work the flowers steadily. Nemesia is not reliably hardy here, so it is usually grown as a one season plant or kept somewhere frost free over the winter. Each plant is supplied as a large, well established specimen in a 5L pot, grown peat free at our Yorkshire nursery and sent out in plastic free packaging.
