Salvia 'Sangoons Plum Crazy' – Ornamental Sage (5L Pot)

A tall ornamental salvia from the Sangoons range, grown for its long succession of flower spikes from early summer into autumn.

'Plum Crazy' makes a bushy, upright clump of aromatic green leaves with slender flower spikes held well above them, reaching roughly 80 to 120cm tall and 60 to 80cm across. At that height it gives a border real vertical lift, and it keeps going long after most summer perennials have finished.

Plant it in full sun in fertile, well drained soil. Water it while it settles in, after which it copes well with dry spells. It suits a large patio container as readily as a border, and the flowers bring bees and butterflies in steadily through the season. Protect young plants during severe frost.

Deadhead the spent spikes to keep the flowers coming. Supplied as a strong, well rooted plant in a 5 litre pot, grown peat free at our Yorkshire nursery.
